My Life’s Quote… For Now
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve shared this quote with others. During 2013 and 2014 I continue to refer to this amazing conceptual quote that has been credited to several different individuals. Personally I don’t care who said it. It has been helpful to me and I believe that it can be helpful to you, as well.
How does this quote impact you and does it cause you to look at your current activities in a different light?
“The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his education and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both.”
As someone who has decided to follow the example of Jesus Christ and his teaching, I use his message as a filter for all other messages and this quote is no exception.
Love that. I, too, have no idea who originally said it but it came across as very Stephen Pressfield-esque.
Agreed.
Any quotes you are clinging to?
Interestingly enough, it’s from Jay-Z. “I’m not a businessman, I’m a business, man.”
I just heard that quote in the $100 Startup book by Chris Guillebeau. Very nice!
It is a great quote. I too have been working on aligning (and defining) my life under God’s purpose.
Hi Richard,
Any verses that you’re really clinging to in your pursuit?
