how to transition out of your job

Recently a new friend of mine, Justin Trapp, send me an email asking if I’d be willing to share my story on his 30 in 30 program. The whole concept, WHICH I LOVE, is Justin taking 30 days to interview 30 different influential leaders and I was honored to be invited to talk with Justin.

Justin had become aware of the New Episode for the Shrein Family and asked for me to share my experience of what it is like being in the middle of an unexpected career transition and essentially to speak on how to transition out of your job. It was good to be able to share my story and I hope that it encourages other leaders in the middle of job transitions to lead well even in the midst of unexpected change.

Without further delay, here is my appearance on 30 in 30 with Justin Trapp talking about how to transition out of your job. Hope you enjoy!

This was encouraging, thank you for sharing such a personal experience. So true – if God wanted you ‘there’ you would be ‘there’. I just wanted to encourage you by letting you know how much of a blessing it has been for me to tune into the Church Marketing Sucks podcast. I’m looking through your site now and you have some great content to share – Thank you! God has even bigger things in store for you, keep up the great work.

Rudy, Thank you so much for the kind words. I know you didn’t have to take a moment to share the encouragement which makes it all the more inspiring. Blessings!

Encouraging story! Transition is hard just like you said, whether you get to leave on your own terms or not, and the key is to focus on the Truth. God is bigger than your situation. I loved the point about “You are THE guy for some other group. If God wanted you there, you’d be there.” Thanks for sharing!
